Learn the Shein-Inspired Tunic Dress Pattern with Ruffles

Hello everyone, how are you? Today’s tip is a simple and quick tunic dress from Shein with ruffles at the hem.

To make the front pattern, I lowered the neckline by 2 cm for added comfort, reduced the shoulder width by 3 cm, and marked the strap width at 7 cm before drawing the armhole. I measured the dress length on my body, excluding the ruffle height. I added 8 cm and connected it to the armhole, then raised the hemline by 1.5 cm to avoid uneven edges.

After cutting the pattern, I made a 1 cm adjustment at the neckline and a 2 cm adjustment at the armhole.

For the back, I lowered the neckline by 1.5 cm, reduced the shoulder width by 3 cm, and marked the strap width at 7 cm. I drew the armhole and extended the hemline by 8 cm, connecting it to the armhole and raising the hem by 1.5 cm to even it out.

I marked 8 cm for the keyhole height.

For the ruffle, measure the hemline and trace double the width if you want a lot of gathering. For less gathering, increase by half the width.

Repeat the same steps for the front.

Here’s the result of the pattern tested in size 36.
