Hi everyone, how are you? Today’s tip is a blouse inspired by Shein.
To make the pattern, I took in 2 cm at the shoulder and 3 cm at the end of the shoulder, and lowered the armhole by 1.5 cm. I marked about 8 cm and drew a line to transfer the dart.
I transferred the dart along this line.
The waist dart won’t be sewn, but instead used as ease. I mirrored the pattern and adjusted the armhole by 1 cm.
I marked 10 cm, raised 1 cm, and drew where the ruffle will go, transferring the adjustment to the bust dart.
I cut along the line where the ruffle will go.
For the ruffle, I cut directly on the fabric, with the ruffle height being 10 cm and twice the length of the cut, or 75% of it if you don’t want too much gathering.
It will look like this.
For the back pattern, I took in 2 cm as in the front, ignored the shoulder dart, and made the width of the blouse strap the same as the front strap. Only do this if your base pattern fits your body perfectly; otherwise, there will be excess fabric in the middle of the neckline. I lowered the armhole by 1.5 cm, marked 10 cm for the ruffle height, and raised it by 1 cm.
Then add the total front and back measurements, and cut the fabric 10 cm high by twice this measurement or 75% of it.
I hope this tip helps, and see you in the next post!
