Hi everyone, how are you? Today’s tip is a dress inspired by the Billy J store.
To create the pattern, I drew the bust radius, sketched a slightly curved line passing through the circumference of the bust radius, and on this line, I marked the neckline height. For the strap, I set it at 5 cm, which is 2.5 cm on each side of the shoulder center. An adjustment is needed for the neckline and the armhole, so it’s a good idea to test on your base to get the correct measurement. For the size I used, it was 1.5 cm for both the neckline and the armhole. I also adjusted the side seam.
I cut the pattern and corrected the neckline and armhole, transferring them to the dart, and transferred the bust dart as well.
In my base pattern, adjustments are needed for the armhole and waist—the armhole to fix the armhole curve and the waist to adjust the center back.
After making the corrections to the base, I marked the strap as I did in the front, 6 cm, with 2.5 cm on each side of the shoulder center. On the side, I marked the cutout height that matched the front.
I transferred the adjustment to the dart and cut the pattern. Then, I traced a strip 1 cm high and about 40 cm wide to tie below the shoulder on the back, 5 cm from the top.
This was the result of the pattern tested with these adjustments using the Style3D program.
