Hello everyone, how are you? Today’s tip is a blouse inspired by Shein with pleats on the neckline.
For the front pattern, I went in 4 cm at the shoulder and 3 cm at the neckline. Check your pattern to see if this measurement fits over your head; measure the front and back pattern with a measuring tape and test if it goes over your head. I left the strap at 7 cm and lowered the armhole by 1.5 cm, then traced two lines toward the neckline.
First, I transferred the bust dart to the first line and adjusted the armhole.
After adjusting the armhole, I cut the second line as shown in the image below and made the pleats the same width. I used the waist dart as ease and added 2 cm for extra ease. I added 1 cm at the hips and raised 1 cm to balance the hem.
I glued another sheet of paper below the top part of the pattern.
Then, I closed the pleats.
Finally, I cut out the pattern.
For the back pattern, I lowered the neckline by 2.5 cm and went in 4 cm at the shoulder. I left the strap at 7 cm and lowered the armhole by 1.5 cm. I added 2 cm at the waist and 1 cm at the hips, then raised the hem by 1 cm for balance. The waist dart will also be used as ease.
The pattern has been cut.
I hope this tip helps, and I’ll see you in the next post!
