Wide Strap Summer Top Pattern

Hello everyone, how are you? Today’s tip is a Shein-inspired sleeveless top perfect for summer.

To create the pattern, I lowered the neckline by 13 cm. From the bust dart apex, I drew a line to the middle of the shoulder, leaving the strap 3 cm wide (1.5 cm on each side of the shoulder) and sketched the model.

I cut the pattern.

I applied an adjustment to the neckline and armhole. For the size I’m using as the base, I adjusted 1 cm for each. I allowed 2 cm at the waist and 1 cm at the hip.

I refined the adjustments, and I used the waist dart as ease. I raised the hem by 1 cm for a better fit.

I moved the waist dart from the overlapping position, spacing it 3 cm apart.

For the back, I lowered the neckline by 15 cm and sketched the back design, marking the strap at 3 cm, just like the front.

I cut the pattern. At the waist, I added 2 cm of ease, and at the hip, I extended by 1 cm.

I raised the hem by 1 cm to adjust.

For the straps, sum the front and back measurements and draw a rectangle using the strap’s width by the combined height.

Here is the tested pattern result.

Hope this tip helps, and see you in the next post!
