Hello everyone, how are you? Today’s tip is a step-by-step guide for a vest pattern I created in size 34, tested on the STYLE3D avatar mannequin.
To create the pattern, I reduced the shoulder width by 3 cm and kept the strap width at 7 cm. For the back neckline, I lowered it by 1 cm and drew a new curved neckline. I added 1 cm of ease to the sides of each pattern and lowered the armhole by 1 cm, drawing the new armhole shape. On the front and back sides, I lowered the pattern by 4 cm below the waistline, while for the front, I lowered it by 2 cm below the waist and completed the design.
For the back pattern, I made the necessary armhole adjustment based on my base pattern. I narrowed the waist by 1 cm and reduced each side of the dart by 0.5 cm to keep the waist measurement accurate.
I corrected any unevenness and slightly shaped the waist.
For the front neckline, I adjusted by 2 cm, and for the armhole, I adjusted by 1.5 cm. For larger sizes, I recommend a 3 cm adjustment. Close the dart at the design’s hemline, then retrace to keep everything aligned.
Make the necessary adjustments and transfer them to the waist dart. Also, close the bust dart and transfer it.
Draw the cut lines
And align the front and back side seams.
Final result of the pattern.
