Ruffled Hem Dress Pattern

Hello everyone, how are you? Today’s tip is a beautiful dress inspired by Shein.

For the front pattern, I brought in 2 cm at the start and the end of the pattern. I marked the neckline height at the armhole level, then marked the middle of the side.

I cut the pattern and made a 1.5 cm adjustment at the neckline and 1 cm at the front armhole to balance with the back armhole adjustment.

I made the adjustments and transferred the bust dart to the waist dart. I also adjusted the lower part of the pattern, adding 5 cm at the hem and raising 1.5 cm for a better finish.

Before creating the gathers at the front, I first worked on the back pattern. I brought in 2 cm at the start and end of the shoulder, marked the middle of the side, and set the neckline height at the same level as the middle of the side.

I cut the back pattern and made a 1.5 cm adjustment at the center back neckline, eliminating the side dart.

After adjusting, I worked on the lower part, extending the hem by 5 cm and raising 1.5 cm for a cleaner finish.

At the back armhole, I made a 1.5 cm adjustment. In my base pattern, this adjustment is necessary, so check your base to see if you need this same adjustment.

Next, I took the lower parts of the dress and traced lines.

Title: Ruffled Hem Dress Pattern

Hello everyone, how are you? Today’s tip is a beautiful dress inspired by Shein.

For the front pattern, I brought in 2 cm at the start and the end of the pattern. I marked the neckline height at the armhole level, then marked the middle of the side.

I cut the pattern and made a 1.5 cm adjustment at the neckline and 1 cm at the front armhole to balance with the back armhole adjustment.

I spread them out for gathering. The image shows light gathering, so I believe increasing the current measurement by 50% is enough for these openings. Don’t exceed 75%, as it would create excessive gathers, while the image shows a more delicate effect.

For the ruffle detail, I marked the desired height, which for my size 36 pattern was 9 cm on each side. Then I measured the armholes, which totaled 25 cm, so I created a rectangle with double that measurement for gathering and rounded the corners.
