Hello everyone, how are you? Today’s tip is a shorts pattern inspired by Shein.
To create the pattern, I used a basic pants block and defined the desired length, which in this case was 38 cm, with 34 cm for the shorts and 4 cm for the lace trim.
At the hipline, I added 1.5 cm to the front and back, squaring this line vertically up to the waist and down to the hem, as shown in the diagram below.
For the crotch, I lowered it by 1.5 cm and extended it by 1.5 cm in the front and back, then redrew the crotch curve.
For the waistband, I marked 4 cm below the waist and cut it out, or you can create a separate waistband above the waist. I took the front and back waist measurements and retraced them into a rectangle. Remember to fold the paper, so you’ll have the total front and back waist measurements. I cut out the 4 cm height for the lace trim. For the width, add the front and back leg widths to find the total width of the hem.
I hope this tip was helpful, and see you in the next post!
