Hello everyone, how are you? Today’s tip is a beautiful wrap dress with flared sleeves, inspired by Shein.
To create the pattern, I took in the shoulder by 1 cm and marked the midpoint between the right side and the dart. I made a 1.5 cm adjustment to prevent the neckline from gaping. However, if you have a larger bust, you may need to add a snap button to keep it from opening, even with the adjustment.
I cut the pattern, closed the adjustment, and joined the remaining parts, eliminating the space left by the dart and smoothing everything out.
I lowered the armhole by 1 cm and transferred the bust dart to the waist.
Front pattern ready.
For the back, I took in the shoulder by 1 cm and redrew the neckline, then lowered the armhole by 1 cm.
Pattern ready.
For both the front and back of the skirt, I drew a line from the dart to the hem to create the flared shape.
I closed the dart, adjusted the waist, and added half the width from closing the dart to the side. I also raised the hem by 1 cm to avoid any pointy ends. The back piece is now ready, but for the front, you need to create the wrap.
Mark the same waist measurement from the top on the skirt, so it aligns perfectly when sewing. Draw a right-angled line down to the hem.
Once cut, the pattern is ready.
For the sleeve, redraw it as you lowered 1 cm from the armholes for both the front and back. Decide on the desired length, draw a straight line, and make it even.
Draw another straight line and cut along the first line through the center of the sleeve, positioning it over the new line. Spread it by 10 cm on each side and glue. Then, smooth the sleeve head and the hem as well.
