Hello everyone, how are you? Today’s tip is a step-by-step guide to creating a cropped top with tied straps, inspired by Shein.
To create the pattern, I lowered the neckline by 9 cm and drew a horizontal line. At the apex of the dart, I made an adjustment of 1.5 cm on each side, and for the strap seam, I left 2.5 cm. For the bust radius, I made a 1 cm adjustment on each side.
You can find out how to calculate the bust radius in the video link below:
The base used for this pattern is available at this link:

The pattern was tested in 3D.
I cut out the pattern.
Separated the pieces.
Removed the bust dart.
Eliminated the point at the hem of the pattern.
Pattern adjusted without the point.
Mark the fold of the pattern and how many times it will be cut from the fabric.
For the back pattern, I drew a line at the armhole height and connected it straight from the dart.
I cut the top part of the pattern.
Made an adjustment of 1 cm on each side.
Cut the adjustment.
And the pattern is ready.
Then, I marked the amount to be cut from the fabric.
For the tying strap, I made it 50 cm wide by the height of the strap, which was 2.5 cm.
This is the result of the pattern with the complete step-by-step process.
I hope this tip helps, and see you in the next post!
